Netgear Ax8
I have this Ax8 router. Factory settings +
Limit 5G to 1200M
Limit 2.4 to 600M
I am on a Giga bit network and get 800M on 5G and only 100 on 2.4g
My OBS streaming does not work if I am on 5G but works fine on 2.4G.
Questions
1. Can someone help me with why it does on work on 5G?
2. If that is not possible to fix, is there anyway I can getting higher speeds on 2.4G
Armor is OFF
thanks

1. What actual router do you have? AX8 isn't a model. check on the label
2. what modem/gateway is the router connected to?
3. what firmware is on the router?
4. What is OBS streaming?
5. what error do you get connected to 5ghz?
6. 100mbps is about all you can expect from 2.4ghz. Its a slow network and sensitive to interference. Its why 5/6ghz started

1. CAX80-100NAS
2. As I understand this is a modem+router and it connected via coaxial cable to the wall (Xfinity)
3. Firmware Version V5.1.1.8
4. OBS streaming is a streaming software for broadcasting content on twitch/youtube etc. (https://obsproject.com/)5. The connection from OBS to youtube keeps getting disconnected.
6. Got it. Thank you.

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
Is Smart Connect Enabled or disabled?
Is this the only item that has problems on 5Ghz?
Is all wifi feature options enabled under Advanced tab/Advanced/Wireless settings?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since FW was updated?

1. Channel is set to AUTO for 4G and 36 for 5G. I have tried Auto for 5G as well
2. Smart connect is disabled (No check)
3. This is the only item (OBS) that I have tried that has this problem. The same application with the exact same settings performs just fine on the 4G
4. Correct all boxes are ticked.
and yes, factory reset was done at least 3 times. and the firmware is update

2. Smart connect is disabled (No check) Enable Smart Connect and test.
3. This is the only item (OBS) that I have tried that has this problem. The same application with the exact same settings performs just fine on the 4G. I'd contact the Mfr about this since this seems to be the only item having problems and see if they can help out on this.
4. Correct all boxes are ticked. What happens if you disable AX mode check boxes on the Basic/Wireless settings tab for both 2.4 and 5Ghz?
