Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem Router(C7000v2)

Upon setting up my Nighthawk AC1900 modem, I'm getting speeds from 2.0 mbps around 50 mbps with my PC.  Have only up to two devices being used and should be getting, per my contract with Xfinity, up to 300 mbps.  I worked with Netgear support but the person I got didn't seem to really know how to resolve the issue.  It's running at 2.4 GHz and want to change it to 5 GHz network band to get more speed.  I've tried connecting to the 192.168.0.1 address to login to the admin home screen, to change the modem configuration, but I only get the "404 - No file or directory not found" message.  Would appreciate it if anyone can provide the needed steps to resolve my issue.

Is the PC ethernet connected or wireless connected?

What channels are you using? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.

    Is Smart Connect enabled?

Brand and model# of the PC and wireless or ethernet adapter installed in the PC?

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

What browser are you using. Be sure to clear out all browser caches before entering the modems web page.

Try a different browser, MS Edge or Firefox?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? Factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface

Thanks for the reply, FURRYe38.  PC is connected as wireless.  I did try connecting directly via Ethernet adapter but still only got about 50 GHz of speed.  Using Protocol Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n); network channel is 1.  Using Dell Inspiron, Using Firefox browser.  Tried connecting to 198.162.1.1 and that one "times out"; the same issues occur with MS Edge with both 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.1.1 after clearing the cache.  Whatever Smart Connect is set as by default is where it's at currently (unable to go into modem settings to verify which).   Had hit the reset button on the modem but no "factory" reset has been done. May need to try that.  If I can just log into routerlogin.net or either of the two IP's I'd be able to get much further on this issue.

Id disconnect the modem from the ISP coax cable and then press the reset button for 15 seconds then release. With a wired PC connected to the back of the modem, give 2 minutes, then try accessing the modems web page and setup wizard should be seen at 192.168.1.1 in the web browser.
