Poor WiFi speed compared to Ethernet
I have a N300 C3000 cable modem+wifi router connected to comcast xfinity cable internet. When I connect any device using the ethernet cable, I get speeds of upto 225 Mbps (as against the promised 150...

Have you taken survey of nearby Wi-Fi networks and eliminated any sources of radio interference (e.g. baby monitors, 2.4 GHz cordless telephones, microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, wireless speakers, etc.)?

The only thing we have is the microwave and that was niot in use. I tried changing the channel again and switched from auto to 6. It seems to have increased the speed considerably but I will continue testing for a couple of days since this has been tried before and worked only temporarily. Thank you you for your response.

Well, you should probably run a Wi-Fi analyzer and take stock of what Wi-Fi networks are active around you and the channels they are using. Then pick the least used channel. There are plenty of free Wi-Fi analyzer programs that you can download. Netgear's Genie program even has one. Pick one and try it.
As I mentioned further above, switching to 5 GHz can dramatically improve speeds. I'll recap the options:
- Replace the C3000 with a dual-band router/modem
- Add a dual-band router and put the C3000 into bridge mode
- Add a dual-band Access Point

I am unable to put it on 5 mghz because my wifi printer won't link up with it. I have to keep it at a lower speed.

Putting it into 5 GHz would be a cool trick, especially because the C3000 doesn't support 5 GHz.
For future reference, you should not post your public IP address.

Thanks for your quick reply. I DID chg channels yesterday b4 posting and went thru ALL the steps Netgear had...it did help some and seems to have stabilized today. I dont want to have to buy ANOTHER router when the C3000 should work...at least according to what as advertized. I will wait a few more days to see if the chgs I made keep holding. Thanks again for your help!!
