R9000-100NAS Do not detect internet
Hi, I may be an intermediate level so please bare with me. Typically all other routers used over years no problem with setup, til now.
Nighthawk X10 R9000 AD7200 router
ZyXEL modem
During setup of router can’t get past “Does not detect internet connection”
Have recycled power over half a dozen times
Called internet provider and they ran complete troubleshooting on their end and can’t find a problem with service, ISP or modem
Used Ethernet cable in box and tried others I have, nothing different
All lights on modem functioning correctly
Internet led is white on router as is all other leds - 2.4, 5, 60
Netgear N600 router works fine with modem
Used other device MAC address in genie support and still “Do not detect internet connection”
Internet provider noted modem using DHCP and not static ip or PPoE as noted in advanced setup on app so this feature doesn’t seem to be of use here to me
I saw in the Netgear support there is instruction to enable DHCP for Nighthawk but how do I get to the point I could enable it?
I also saw in Netgear support in a reply to someone else noting DHCP service it requires NAT router. Is this my problem? bc I see this router looks to be a NAS (model R9000-100NAS on box)

What zyxel modem? They make a bunch of models.
Include modem/router combo devices.
If that's what you have, it could be a double nat issue.

What firmware is on the router?
- lgeslingAspirantZyxel model is VMG4825-B10A. It is a modem/router model but is setup and used as a bridge modem bc I’ve always had my own router I use with it. I am replacing a Netgear N600 router I’ve been using. Nighthawk firmware is unknown bc I can’t get though the setup process to access its info

The VMG4825 isn't exactly known for great firmware.
Easy test to see if everythings working but the netgear isn't getting the proper connection from theVMG4825?
simply put the zyxel back in router mode and put the netgear an AP mode. If it works and runs as it should, then we'd need to work on fixing the issue with the zyxel.
AP mode does disable some features on the netgear which is why its more of a test. If you don't use those features, you could simply leave it as is. If you want those features to be handled by the netgear and not the zyxel, then we'd further research getting the zyxel working properly.

You might try Voxels 3rd party FW as well.
