Random issues with C6300
Hi all, I've been looking through the forums for answers to these questions, but nothing seems really applicable to these problems, so I guess I'll start with a bit of backstory: Recently our...

With the channels it all depends on your environment you want to be on a channel with the least amount of traffic. The traffic comes from your neighbors wifi they are all on different channels. You can download the netgear wifi analytics app on your phone or tablets and it reads all the things in the area that's sending wifi out so then you can see which channel has the least traffic and set your router to that channel. and you Do not need a static ip address for port forwarding automatic is fine.

Hi Darren,
I believe everything in the house is at least up to Wireless N, though I will check on that!
Also, when it comes to channels, is it strictly random as to which ones will provide the best connection, or are there 'best' settings for each router?
Thanks for your time!
Edit -- Also, when it comes to port forwarding, do I need a static IP address, or is it fine with "Automatically Obtain IP Address?"

Hi Darren,
That's perfect, thanks so much! I've found an empty channel so we'll see if that solves everything. I've also setup port forwarding for the Xbox, so hopefully this helps solve everything.
Thanks again, your help has been fantastic!

Sorry for responding to myself once again, but I wanted to mention that since changing the channels, setting up port forwarding and keeping an eye on things in general, everything appears to be working absolutely perfectly now. Speeds did pick up to around 35mbps (maybe there's a device connected that I don't know about, still looking into that), but the outages have completely stopped, which is fantastic.
Thanks so much for your help, Darren, it was much appreciated!
