Slow download speed CM500

I upgraded to Cox 300mb ultimate internet.  I purchased a CM500 modem and had them activate on my account.  I am getting slower speeds than I think I should.  I'm only seeing 200mb download at best and sometimes below 100.  I called Cox to ask about updating my firmware and they said they cannot do it....and that the problem is packet loss in my modem.  How can I fix this?

    Hello Ctmaz

     

    I would check with the ISP if they need more that 16x4 channels in order for the modem to get that speed.
