Steady Red Light on Power - c3000

Hello Community,

I have a refurbished C3000 modem that was purchased August 2015. It has been working fine, no issues at all until tonight when the reouter lights all went off and the power light is now a stead red light. I cannot access the router directly as even with a wired connection it shows as network cable disconnected.

 

I have unplugged and replugged, i have left unplugged for an hr and replugged back in, and attempted to press the reset button, none of these things seem to have any effect. When i push the reset no lights flash or come on at all.

 

Any advice is helpful, I cant really afford to purchase a new modem/router and comcast has started charging more in my area and id prefer not to have to rent one from them.

  • I think router is sick. Looks like part of the router circuit lost power.

      Hello jlogan85

       

      Yea if the modem is showing the power light as solid red then there is sometype of hardware failure that is happened not much you can do but try to factory reset the device to see if it comes back on. If you are still under Hardware warranty I would contact Netgear support.

  • I assume since i bought the modem as Refurbished from Groupon Aug 2015 that i am no longer under any warranty. Is my assumption correct?
