Very Slow (almost zero) Internet Connectivity - Netgear C3700 TWC - Austin, TX

Hi,

I have a new C3700 Netgear Cable Modem Router with TWC Extreme Internet here in Austin, TX (78717) and everything worked great for about 2 months.  However, now I am not able to access Internet as the connection is really slow since the past 2 weeks. I have been on numerous calls with TWC support but they have not been able to help.  The TWC technician came to our apartment and checked the cable and everything looks great.  He plugged the TWC modem/router and it worked fine.  Somehow it just seems to be an issue when I am using my own Netgear C3700 Modem/Router.  I'll appreciate if somone can provide a resolution. Thank you.

  • Hi,

Any feedback, anyone? Again, the connection strength is excellent but only a couple of websites load. I am able to load Yahoo and anything related to Yahoo (Yahoo Finance, Movies, etc). However, if I try to load Amazon, CNN, Speedtest.net etc. a page not found error is displayed. Can it be related to DNS setting? DNS and Internet IP Addresses are configured to get automatically/dynamically from ISP.

    Thank You.

I have some new insight to share. I enabled the guest network option on the Netgear router setup page, connected to the guest network wirelessly and everything started working fine. Got download speeds of 50mbps.

So the guest network works but the actual secured wireless network doesn't. Any suggestions what might be causing that?

      Thank you.

        Hello agarg1

Have you tried to clear the saved wireless networks from your device and then reconnect to the router see if that works. You could also try changing the SSID and password on the router check if anything changes there if that does not work I would suggest to do a factory reset and try again. Hope to hear your feedback.
