WHAT IS THIS SECURITY SCAM

I received an e-Mail that looked like it came from NetGear I got thru a support process that looks like Netgear and was told $89.00 to get my router fixed.

 

What the hell is going on?

       With my weak psychic powers, I can't see your e-mail message.

       I don't know what this "a support process" was, or how it looked.

       That might sound authentic.

    what, exactly, do you expect anyone here to tell you?

    Hello RickoJC

     

    Netgear would only send a email about a security alert and would tell you to visit the community of contact netgear support they would never ask for money in a email or ask for personal info.
