Wifi router c6300 security settings and schedule

C6300. Latest firmware provided by time warner. V2.01.14, iPhones, roku tvs, surfaces, windows laptops, etc. wide variety of devices being used.

I'm trying to setup a schedule to block all ports on the router from 8 pm to midnight for a range of IPs. 40 thru 50.

Every time I turn it all, every device connected ends up being blocked.

For example my phone is IP 12. Doesn't fall within the range. Yet I cannot access anything.

What I really want is the kids devices to stop working. Their tvs are internet tvs only. Parental controls suck on those.

My setup.
Under schedule, kids no internet. Sunday thru Thursday 20:00 to 24:00 hours.
Under block services.
Block services per the schedule. Service type all, Range of IPs 40-50, all ports.

All devices have address reservations.
Yet my phone gets blocked with reservation of 12.

All traffic seems to be blocked even outside the time range.

Please let me know if anyone has had success.

  • It sounds like a bug to me. If your interface is like mine, which it sounds as though it is, if there are only a handful of devices and they already have reserved IPs, I would add them individually. If you want all ports blocked, you'll have to select Service Type: User Defined -> Protocol: All -> Starting Port: 1 -> Ending Port: 65535 -> Service Type/User Defined: Unique Name (It will not allow them to have the same name)

My issue with the schedule/block services is that it won't allow for multiple schedules, at least in my firmware...

  • In he service type, I have an option for all. Didn't think about changing to user defined. Thank you.

I've since purchased Disney circle. Now I can shut it off whenever the girls get in trouble. Hahha
