You will have to reconfigure the new router. What you are trying to do is like replaacing an engine on an Chevy with Ford engine....Setting up the router won't take that long.

I may have confused. I have a wifi router. Brought in a powerline adapater. Want to add powerline adapater to original router to have it cloned instead of making it a separate wifi network. The other questions remain. So i do not know what "new router" means in your post. Thank you.
