Compatibility between PLW1000v2 and XAV5501
Hi, is it possible to connect to the Powerline AV+ 500 client adapters (XAV5001) to the PL1000 which is connected to my router? The PLW1000v2 kit was added to my network to create a Wlan access poi...

Great, I managed to get the 500 plugs working :smileyvery-happy:
Thanks for all the help! I have also read the threads related to my specific topics and understand now much better how the Netgear adapters interoperate.
Happy new year and kind regards

Thanks. I assume that I have to reset the old 500 plug before I can reconfigure it to connect to the PL1000? As I configured the PLW1000 to take over the settings from my Fritzbox, I hope I do not loose any configuration made to my PLW1000 set.
You may not need to reset the plugs. Just following the instructions I linked to might be enough. I can't see that adding a plug will do anything to the PLW1000's settings. You won't be going anywhere near that plug.
In case I would like to replace my old 500 plugs, which can/should I use? I
You can add any plugs you like so long as they are AV compliant, which should cover anything sold now.
The 1200 plugs should be just fine. They also have 1000 Mbps Ethernet. The slightly different operating speeds is barely noticeable in comparison with the 500 to 1000 jump.
You don't even have to buy Netgear plugs, but I find it easier to stick to the same brand. Then you can use the same software to set up and control them.

I've a very similar combo. XAV5501 with brand-new PL1000v2 and PLW1000v2
Issue I'm having appears to be an IP conflict with a 4K AppleTV attached to the ATT U-Verse router. It stops streaming connections, showing no Router IP nor DNS IP - both are N/A.
The old AppleTV, different room, ethernet-connected to the PLW1000v2 shows both Router and DNS IPs.CHANGES MADE:
Plugged the AppleTV directly to the router. Plugged the PL1000 to the 8-port Hub.
The XAV5501 that WAS giving Ethernet now has no connection. The WiFi SSID is broadcasting but will not connect. AppleTV 4K is working just fine! U-Verse DVR is OK.
I'm no networking expert, but am reasonably competent to follow instructions, having been around hardware and software for over 40 years. This is beyond me... Does ANYONE have any suggestions, please?
In hopes, with thanks, Stephen.

Whatever us happening has nothing to do with the Powerline Ethernet. That is "dumb wire" with no IP address management involved.
Where the plugs can come into the picture is the wifi on the XAV5501. And that may be the TV rather than the plug.
That is where this comes in:
The old AppleTV, different room, ethernet-connected to the PLW1000v2 shows both Router and DNS IPs.That is ethernet, not wifi. At least, I assume that it is wired.
I find it a bit hard to follow what is on Ethernet and what is on wifi.
For example, there is this bit:
AppleTV 4K is working just fine! U-Verse DVR is OK.Are these wired ethernet connections?
So, the bottom line is that troubleshooting is probably best done on the wifi. This may or may not be the plugs' access points. Apple is having a lot of fun implementing features that seem designed to frustrate wifi users.
Here's another unclear (to me) bit:
The XAV5501 that WAS giving Ethernet now has no connection. The WiFi SSID is broadcasting but will not connect.
Is that a wired connection or wifi?
Strip things back to basics. Start with just two plugs, the router (host) plug and receiver (guest) plug. Keep them close together to confirm that they work.
Do this with all the plugs in pairs.
When you know that they work in pairs, put them where you want them and see what breaks.
By the way, combining PLW1000v2 and XAV5501 means that your powerline network operates at the speed of the slowest plugs, the XAV5501.
Finally, you have joined in on an existing conversation from five years ago. that may or may not have anything to do with your problems.
There is also a good chance that the official support team is busily monitoring new conversations and may miss your addition to this one, especially as it is marked Solved.

Both AppleTVs were ethernet wired.
The Wifi PLW1000v2 was obviously the source of the IP issues. Unplugging the Ethernet from the PL1000 let the 4K TV work to a degree - it would stream but get stuck buffering, requiring handset intervention, until even that couldn't revice streaming.
Unplugging the PLW from power made everything work properly, especially (post 4K streaming uninterrupted) once I restored my old XAV5501 as the initial gateway from the U-Verse Router. With the PL1000 as the gateway, the XAV in my office worked for a short while, but that gave up too. I'm now typing via that restored connection as my Dell's WiFi is DISABLED.
To compound the issues, I have a Sunpower Solar rig, and it uses a Netgear Powerline adapter - the sender is within the Sunpower box outside and uses WiFi - I'm definitely not opening that box up! THAT WiFi had IP conflict issues that Peak Power Solutions in Tustin, CA, never solved! So - no monitoring as I had to remove the "dumb" adapter.
I had gone through the pairing-locally, plug by plug. Three green on all. But the 4K had "network issues" on EVERY App, including being unable to get a DNS and Router IP - wired directly to the U-Verse router.
Upshot: new adapters going back to Amazon. MAY get a pair of DUMB adapters and see if they will work as slaves - not going to try hooking one as the gateway, despite the likely throughput limitation. Seems that multiple NetGear WiFi combatants render the entire local network unusable, so further forays into WiFi will be none. WFH reliably takes priority, bar none.
Thanks for trying, Michael.
