Does the PLP 1200 work to extend wifi or just direct ethernet connections?
Hey guys,
Not very network savvy. Been having issues with the internet at my house as the Wi-Fi is on a different floor and across the house. My landlord bought us this product and said it should extend the Wi-Fi signal for our basement rooms but it seems to me that it is only functionable to directly connect individual devices with an ethernet cable. He claims to have this device at home and it creates another network off of the existing network. I cannot figure out how to get that set up for the life of me. Is there a similar device he may have that functions like that instead of hardwiring to select devices?

The PLP1200 does what you say. But there are wifi variants, PLW1000 and others, that also include a wifi access point at the remote plug.
Maybe the landlord got confused.
