Pl1200- 3 green lights, no connectivity
So I'm adding a second pair of pl1200 adapters to the the initial pair.
initial pair worked fine. Not so much the second pair
i have 3 green lights on the second pair but no connectivity. I had tried to add a giga switch downstream from one of the newer pl1200 but despite greens on adapter, PC has no connectivity.
I did a ipconfig release and renew- no change. At best I get an indicator on pc that it's requesting an IP address but it eventually times out and I get the the typical "limited or no connectivity " message.
i tried going straight from the pl1200 to the the pc and get the same limited connectivity results.
This newer pl1200 is located where I had a functioning connection with the old hdx101 and the original pl1200.
The old pair of netgear hdx101 on my net worked and they never impacted the first pair of pl1200.
what am I missing here

Adding a powerline adapter to an existing powerline network | Answer | NETGEAR Support
You need to introduce the new plugs to the existing devices. Out of the box they will refuse to talk to one another.

I did re-read the instructions.
For introduction, I did plug in 1st of second pair and give 2 seconds on the security plug on the original (downstream of router) and then within 1 minute press 2 seconds on new plug.
i did same on 2nd of the new pair.
I did find that doing so caused the security light on the 2nd of original pair to go blink red for a while before returning to green.
beyond this and constant paper clip resets trying different outlets closer to routers/1200 plug, can't get any connectivity thruput. Yet all green lights - go figure.

The hdx101 is early generation stuff that seems to predate the AV standard.
Apart from that, I find it hard to understand your description of what is connected to what. For example, I don't get this bit:
I had tried to add a giga switch downstream from one of the newer pl1200 but despite greens on adapter, PC has no connectivity.
What is a giga switch? If you are adding a multi-port LAN switch, try using something else.
When setting up a Powerline network, I test each plug with a laptop's LAN connection. I also do all the connecting with the "host" and "guest" plugs close to each other. I then move the second plug to where I want to use it.
You may have done all this, you don't say, and I can't follow what you have done.
