150 feet may be stretching it, depending on the quality of the mains circuit. I do about 50 feet and see some speed loss.
Netgear advises against using "extension blocks", although I find that they work just fine. I do, though, avoid using extensions that have surge suppression or any other "mains cleaning" technology.
