Powerline PLP2000 - Connection goes to sleep?
Well I've owned this thing for several weeks and it's just a weird problem. I get the full IP speed provided by Spectrum when I plug in the receiving adapter to an outlet for several days. Then eventually one day, it only gets 10% of it. So I try a new outlet and then again, it works several days with no issues. I've done this now with about 6 outlets. It gets even more interesting. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it returns to the good speed. I tested this even further and noticed it would drop it's speed when I stopped using the network on my computer. What is going on? Today was one of those days. I played on my pc with normal speeds. Ate some dinner and returned to my pc at 10% of the speed it should be at (100mbps vs 10mpbs). Is this thing going into some sort of sleep mode in which I need to wake it up by removing/plugging it back into the outlet? That's really all it's been taking. It works fast when it works.
I've also tried three different ethernet cables. Two different rooms. No major appliances have been moved around, as if that would explain anything anyways.

The only way to fix the hibernation issue on Netgear's poowerline plugs seems to be to use ZyXel's powerline utility. Netgear hasn't created a utility that manages its newer plugs.
