While we are waiting for Netgear to update their Genie and Powerline Utility to correctly recognise their new PL1200 and PLP1200 powerline adapters, the support software for Zyxel's version of these adapters works perfectly well.
Search for support of Zyxel PLA5405 adapters on their own website. I used version V7.0.2.14.0611 with my own adapters and can confirm it works.

Re: PL1200 and PLP1200 Powerline Utility / Netgear Genie issues
Thanks for the tip to find powerline info in Genie. There doesn't appear to be any firmware update option in Genie that I can see. Is there another way to update the PL1200?

There is no firmware upgrade that I know of. I meant exactly what I said, you can update the names of the devices, that's it. Sorry for any confusion.
