Powerline XAVB1301 Are Both devices interchangeable?
I have a spare XAVB1301 powerline unit and I want to add it as another receiver in another room (the original is connected to the router). I bought 2 packs.
Are both the units in the pack interchangeable i.e can either one be used as the sender or the receiver?
I also have a XAV5421 and would like to know the answer to the same question.
The reason I am asking is that I cannot get them to add to my Powerline network even when connected via ethernet cable
Thanks

Hi Mosslucy
You should be able to add your extra XAVB1301 set to your existing setup. And yes, the adapters are interchangeable. It can be a receiver or sender.
Please check this link to know more about XAV1301 : https://kb.netgear.com/20777/XAV1301-FAQ
If it will not sync, bring all adapter same room where the router and pair them one at a time. Once done, you can place the adapter where you wished it to be located.

Remember, when adding new plugs to an existing network, you need to follow this advice:

The XAVB1301 is an AV200 plug. The XAV5421 is AV500.
This means that the network will default to the AV200 speeds. It probably doesn't matter, but it is worth bearing in mind if you hit any speed bumps.
