Trouble to connect Dlink DCS-932L camera
Hi
I have just bought a Dlink DCS-932L wireless camera and I have a NetGear Router WNDR3700v2 router. The camera works but some setups did not work correct. I have talked to Dlink support several times but they can't find the problem and they have never heard about it. Their advice to me was to buy a Dlink router and don't user my NetGear Router ???.

- jmizoguchiVirtuosodo you think 3700 is power line device? no
http://forum1.netgear.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28some setups did not work correct.
no body will guess what it is... detail it - AffezellAspirantWhen I shall config 'Motion Detection' on the camera I only got a flaming coloured picture
instead of picture from my camera. If I choose Live picture the picture is correct.
Couöld it be sonmething with port forwarding ? Can I config the router so it opens all ports for testing ? - jmizoguchiVirtuosoI have 9 camera of these a port forwarding will be only for external access
I have no issues on live few external anytime for forwarding. motion detection are used in emailing from the camera so if the photo looks funny then you may have an issue with camera
make sure if you have latest one.
I had 2 with v1 and 7 was v1.5 or something and older v1 had most issues with hardware.
you need to contact dlink - fordemMentorFirst - is the camera working correctly on the LAN? If it's not, then call D-Link, the router has nothing to do with the problem.
From your description of that problem, I don't think the router is the culprit. - AffezellAspirant

Hello again
I bought the first camera for 3 weeks ago and the problems appear on that
direct. I have talked to Dlink support several times (15) and they have replaced the but with the same problem. So noew I have two cameras with exact the same error.
As I understand You have same type of camera so its easier to describe the problem.
1. As I say before when I try to setup the motion detection in the setup I
the picture is only a flickering colour picture and I can the the squares.
2. When I try to test send a epost to my mail I got message Invalid username
/password. If I use exactly the same epost setting in Dlink view Cam its
OK.
3. There is no picture in ViewCam and the word disconnect is in the picture
frame. If I try to to connect again I got word Connect in the frame but
direct after that come the text Disconnected.
I have Windows 7,64 bit and Explorer9
I have picture in the window Live Video in the Dlink setup program and on my IPhone too. - jmizoguchiVirtuososending via email only needs correct mail server, user/pass
I use gmail and it comes fine. It comes in crazy amount of motion detected pictures but never failed to work. I bought for going overseas while I have friend look my cat. I was able to watch live view as well
motion detection, I just pick few grids and works
try to use dlink or other iPhone app, I use different app which are seems to better because dlink iPhone takes longer to get data but I run in full resolution as well. Other than in week I use 1GB of cell data on my iPhone but works fine
as long as each camera as different port number and each port is correctly setup in the router then it should work. - AffezellAspirantOk, thanks for Your advice, I have done everything what I could but it did'nt work so
I have to send it back to the shop and get my money back. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoMake sure you did upgrade the firmware on these camera or it will be erratic
