xavb5001 on Mac

Are there any updates on the powerline utility software for XAVB5001 on Mac OS or iOS? How are people troubleshooting powerline? Speedtest? or ... 

Any suggestions for troubleshooting is appreciated.  I am in an older (1950s updated 1970s) lathe, wire mesh with stucco home. I have been using XAVB5001 powerline with reasonable not great throughput to get to garage on our property (stay on same phase of power).

I have some Nestcam wireless security cameras and it has been challenging to get good bandwidth to them after trying various products. I have been getting dropouts and fuzzy video off and on since install. Both adapters are on the same phase of power.

Do any of the newer home powerline and range extedner devices have troubleshooting tools?
