A Couple of Issues with the A6200. Please assist.
Hi everyone.
I recently got a A6200, in conjunction with the Netgear R6200 (http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R6200.aspx)
My router is all setup for wireless AC, and the dual band system. When I got my A6200, I noticed a large increase in my speed. So I was happy. But I'm still confused about one thing, on the wireless menu in Windows 7, it says I'm connected to my router via 802.11n. Does anyone else have this problem?
Also, occasionally when I startup my computer, my A6200 will be "unable to connect" to my router. When I troubleshoot via Windows, it restarts the A6200 and then it works fine. This is really annoying, though, and it's starting to happen quite a lot. Originally, I had the drivers that came on the disc (version no. 1.0.0.0), but then I saw on Netgear's site that there was an update. I downloaded the update, and followed precisely the download instructions. Same issue. Also, I'm not using the Netgear "Genie" thing. I only use the standalone driver. Any help?

- JonnytAspirantI've had the a6209 for about a year with windows 8 ... It just randomly drops sometimes never figured out why. I talked to there tech help once but it was never fixed then my warranty ran out so i just dealt with it. I've always looked for a solution but never found one and just dealt with it. I know they have a windows 8 driver but that still didn't help me either. Just my 2 cents GL !
- yesnoyesnoNoviceSorry I forgot to mention. I'm on Windows 7 64bit.
- yesnoyesnoNovicePlease, surely someone must have this issue here.
A relative of mine has the same adapter and he has the same issue with the random disconnects at startup. I'm on the latest drivers. Uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't help. - yesnoyesnoNoviceWell... Since nobody replied, please delete this post and my account, moderators. Thanks.
- Retired_Membertry installing drivers only and let windows manage it also check administrative Services and look for any thing which has a delayed start that impacts usb or wireless

That's what I'm currently doing (Drivers-only). I checked the Services panel and everything is set to automatic run with WLAN. - IceVikingNovice

Just curious is you ACTUALLY KNOW of a fix for all of these connectivity issues with this device?
Because ALL I hear is uninstall/reinstall and don't use the software that was sent with it and don't use the upgraded/current software.
But even then. Using the older stand alone drivers is no guarantee that you can get a reliable connection.
Its pretty sad when a NETGEAR wireless adapter, using NETGEAR drivers can't find the NETGEAR router in your house.
This isn't rocket science. This is technology that has been around for DECADES and netgear screwed it up.
Not only did they screw it up. But they keep right advertising something that ain't gonna EVER happen with this device KNOWING not only is the advertising false, but fraudulent. In MANY cases it doesn't work. AT. ALL.
So how about you start being honest with people SeaRay
