Have you tried it without drivers?
People have found that with some wifi adapters, the "native" drivers in Windows do the trick.
You should also check that your Windows drivers for things like USB and network devices are up to date. Windows update will not check those drivers. You have to track them down from the motherboard maker, or whoever put together the PC.
You should also check to see is this is a USB2, USB3 thing. Some users have found that wifi adapters do not work properly in USB3 ports. Again, this may be down to their Windows drivers.
