Wifi Speeds Differ

So got an odd strange issue. We just got 100mbit/5mbit cable internet. Both have the same USB Netgear Adapter Cards. The WNDA3100. Both in the same room about 10-12 feet and I get 114mbit while he gets 60-70mbit. Also 2 laptops in the same room. His laptop which is furture away is fast with 90mbits. Not using the WNDA3100.

What can I do to improve his speeds?

  • Hi ZeroC00l,

Ya seems that it may be a wall or something, it's strange, some times he can reach high as 100+ other times its 80-90's low as 20 for a few moments. Yes I have tried changing out the adapter cards, same results.

I've been messing with them, there is a wifi router on his desk, I thought maybe that would create a problem, however he has it off and not even using it, and when he does have it on, same results.

I get 115 almost all the time. Very seldum I get below 90. Seems I am furthur away from the wireless router to. He most be around a lot of dead spot / zones. But if that's the case, then why isn't it doing it all the time? :)
