AC1900 wifi mesh extender EX6400

so I just connected this I am not sure how I feel about it. On my iphone it use to suggest 2.4 GHZ or 5GHZ for my wifi to connect to. now it is only showing 5ghz 2.4 doesn't show as an option. and I just reconnected my TCL smart tv I have this extender very close to it and the strength I would thing would say excellant but it just says good. I'm not sure if it is working properly. any thoughts?

    Are you running it in mesh mode? 

    If so, it uses the same ssid for both and then can switch a device from 2.4ghz to 5ghz as needed.

        Log into it and check if its using the one ssid/mesh function. 

        you can get the manual by going to netgear.com/support/   type in the model number and it'll bring you to the manual, firmware.
