AC1900/EX6400V3 - In the weeds!
AC1900/EX6400v3 Range Extender.
My range extender worked flawlessly for seven months and now refuses to show up on my list of available networks. Multiple factory resets and re-installs by the book. I'm close to just throwing this thing out the window.
So - there's a Nighthawk app and and actual Nighthawk router product. (I can't be the only one thrown by this). Am I correct in understanding that the Nighthawk app gets used with all the products?
thanks in advance for useful insights!

What firmware is on it?
What are all the led's on it doing? (color/blinking/solid/etc)
What makes you think its not working? Details are key since we aren't there to see it or what's going on.
Something to keep in mind that I see a lot, that device is a mesh extender. Meaning, if you set it up using the wps method or the default settings on the initial configuration, is that it sets up in mesh mode. It'll have the exact same ssid as your router. So it won't show up as a separate network. A lot of people make that error and think it doesn't work when its simple allowing your devices to roam between it and the router as needed (on their own roaming protocols).

My profuse apologies - recent household chaos has delayed my opportunity to return to this. Firstly I'm intriqued with the proposal of an EXT identifier not showing as a stand-alone as in your description. That would make perfect sense. Then it makes me wonder why the Netgear AC9100/ex6400v3 has reliably has shown up on all devices and our Sony SmartTV as an Ext version of our network for the past eight months.
I'm going to attempt this again if only to make sure my sequence notes contain all current info and will post the outcome. Thank you !- plemansGuru - Experienced User
It could have been a firmware update. I know mesh was added to a few extenders with firmware updates.
Without going through the release notes, I'm not sure if this is one or if it was just how you initially set it up.
