Adding wired wifi extender to my rax41 router

Hello all. I am simply looking for something.
I have the rax41 nighthawk router in my basement. I want to run ethernet from that router to a wifi extender out to my garage. Can someone recommend a product that i can add with an Ethernet from my router.
I have verizon fios with 1gb download speed.
The problem is my router is in basement and i want to increase my wifi coverage beyond my block foundation out to my garage and outside. More coverage.
im looking for stable solid connection which is why whatever device i go with to out in my garage i want it to be physically connected using ethernet from my existing router in basement. Can someone please recommend a good solution? thank you in advance.

I appreciate this. I am aware that they have eithernet ports. But to me it seems like most of them are to hook up devices. I see alot of wifi extenders wirelessly from router and then the extenders only having eithernet options to hook up devices. I don't understand support access point mode. I want something great that can support my 1gb download speed that can connect from my already existing netgear router. And use the extender for wifi wireless broadcast only. Your message was pretty general, ill try and follow but looking for more clarity on extender type and direction on accomplishing what i am trying to do please

I just reread what you said. Are you saying that i want to look for extender that has eithernet with access point mode? if i were to guess that means accepting connection from my router with\thru eithernet?

Most of Netgears extenders support access point mode. Just the very base models (like EX2700, etc) don't.

Are you wanting an AX extender or an AC extender?

  • To extend your WiFi coverage from your basement to your garage with a solid connection, you should consider a WiFi access point (AP) or a mesh system. Since you want a wired connection, here are a couple of options:

    1. Wired Access Point: A device like the Ubiquiti UniFi AC Lite or TP-Link EAP225 can be connected via Ethernet and placed in your garage. These are known for stable, reliable connections and can easily cover large areas.

    2. Mesh System: If you’re looking for an easy-to-expand solution, a mesh system like the Netgear Orbi or TP-Link Deco could work well. Just connect one unit to your router via Ethernet in the basement, and place the other in your garage.

Both solutions offer great performance and stability with the Ethern

Okay guys. I got tp link re815xe axe5400 range extender. I was able to set up using app. I realized that it seemed begin in access mode or a sepearate wifi name. I researched and found that if i removed the ext part of name that i would not have to manually switch between wifis on my phone for example. It switches auto as i wanted depening on range. It seems to be working perfectly. Speed is great as well as coverage! It seems to be working fine and there is 2 out of 3 bars of signal between my router and this extender.
It does not seem like i can use ethernet cable from router to extender. The port on extender only seems to work for devices. Is that right? From looks of my set up, testing range and speeds dont seem like i even need it. Just curious and the fanatic in me wants to have 3 out 3 green wifi bars. Lol
