Android connection to new PC running Windows 10
My Netgear WN3000RP-V2 has worked well for a year, taking a signal from a WNR2000-V3 router and relaying to an Android tablet.
Last week I installed a new PC running Windows 10.
The tablet works from the WNR2000-V3 router, but not from the WN3000RP-V2 extender.
I have pushed the factory reset button and run through the genie set up on the Android (with connection from WNR2000-V3 router) using the admin username and basiclotus212 password.
When switching the Android to the WN3000RP-V2 extender I get Authentication problem message.
What is the problem, and how do I solve it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, in particular if it is in plain English. I just get lost with computer jargon and anchronyms.

Hi alaric,
It seems like your router was factory reset since your android was connected to the router. Therefore, your extender may be using old credentials (if you have changed your password for the router login)
Please follow the factory reset for the WN3000RPv2 on page 25 of 36:
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN3000RPV2/WN3000RPv2_UM_2April2014.pdf
Once that is complete, connect to your WN3000RPv2's WiFi
then open a web browser and go to mywifiext.net
name = adminpassword = password
then follow the steps to install your WN3000RPv2 (page 10 of 36)Please check if both your WN3000RPv2 and your WNR2000 are running the most recent firmware

Thanks for the reply, but the problem is not solved.
Factory reset proceedure seems OK, and Android tablet connected to extender. Network Genie page appears without prompting.
Password entered as password, but nothing further happens, it just sticks and I can't connect to anything else.
On my PC I can't connect to either support page you quote, just get page unavailable message.
What can I do?

Hi alaric,
Can you please clarify what network your PC is connect to when you visit the support pages?
Your Android tablet is now able to connect to the extender, is it also connected to the internet?
Connect to your router network, then go to routerlogin.net and click on the "Router Upgrade" located under "Maintenance" click "Check" to see if there are any updates.
Connect to your range extender, then go to mywifiext.net and click on "Firmware Upgrade" located under "Maintenance" click "Check" to see if there are any updates.
If you're having issues checking the firmware on either device. Use a device that is connected to the internet such as the one you are using to post on the forums, then visit

http://support.netgear.com/product/WNR2000v3Download the available firmwares then upload them to the "Firmware Upgrade" and "Router Upgrade" pages mentioned above
