Authentification problem
Is it possible to "overload" the AC750 EX6100 Extender?
The Extender was purchased because my first Android Box(MXQ Pro) would not function on WiFi signal only.
My Laptop functioned fine without the Extender but sonce I had it I connected the Laptop to the Extender to see if there was any improvement.
There was some but negligable.
I then found a better Android Box (Infinity TV) which will function without the Extender but not as smoothly as with the Extender.
Initially I had the Infinity connected to the main tv and the Extender activated, everthing was working fine. I decided to connected the MXQ box to
a TV in the basement and that is when I started having problems. For some reason now the Infinity tv box will not connect to the extender but
keeps giving the "authentication problem" prompt.
I have tried disconnected all devices from power overnight, but no luck with getting rid of the "authenification problem". The MXQ will connect,
no problem, Laptop likewise.
Am thinking of resetting the Extender to Factory settings and starting over again. If that works I'll be a happy camper. Regards Milt
Hello Darren,
No it was not necessary to try the reset. While trying and retrying to establish connection using the
Netgear password, I had an idea that maybe the problem was not between the Box and the Extender
but between the Extender and the Router. I entered the Network password and, voila, connection was
established.
In hindsight, maybe I should have realized the problem earlier, but there it was, a lesson learned.
Thanks to you, Darren, and the others who offered suggestions.
Regards Milt
