Can not connect WN2500RP to AT&T router

I have tried the installation guide options #1 and #2. #1 the extender never picks up the signal from the router even when it placed directly by the router. #2 my network map does not show the WN2500RP.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Try a reset and start over. Can other wireless devices connect to AT&T router?
  • I have reset the extender twice and yes two laptops and two smartphones connect to the AT&T router.
I am at a loss as to what I should do. Before I went with AT&T Uverse I had installed a couple of routers, one of them a Netgear and was able to get them up and going.
I think I need to return this extender.
    Thanks,

    Try calling support before returning.
  • What is the ATT dsl / router yo have

Make sure to use WPA or WPA2 encryption.
  • Thanks for everyone's help. I have returned the extender to the store.
