Ethernet cable out not working

I just bought a EX3700. The only reason is because i have an interactive TV box that only takes ethernet cords for some reason. My router is in the other room so i don't want a really long cable going between rooms. Problem is that the wifi works fine but the ethernet out connection doesn't (which was the main reason of buying the thing) any ideas?

    Hello fsamuel

When you have the TV box plugged in can you log into the wifi extender and see if it is showing up as a wired device?

yes, i have done that and i do believe that it does show up. But the problem is that there doesn't seem to be a actual internet connection between them. The interactive box does not work. but when i plug it back into my modem and reset... it does work.

        Hello fsamuel

Is there any type of internet settings you can get to in the box where you can see a Ip address maybe if you set a static 192.168.1.x address it will connect.
