EX2700 device connection problem (failed to obtain ip address)

I set up the extender without too much trouble. It was working for a bit to connect to my mobile phone. However, now my phone can't successfully connect to the ext network. It gives the error "failed to obtain ip address."

The "device" indicator light on the extender itself is red, even though I'm within 10 yards of the device.

Update: after unplugging and replugging it in a few (~5 times), now the device indicator is green, and my phone can connect.

Is this normal behavior? Or did I get a defective extender?

I've tried resetting it, but the behavior is on-going.

        Hello blargh

You may need to change the wireless channels on the extender or your router to get better signal. also you may want to try and move the extender a little closer to the router.
