EX3700 Disrupts My Wired Switch LAN
I have a COMCAST cable modem/router with four LAN sockets. Two connect directly each to one computer. Two connect to 4 port switches. My family has a network attached printer, several desktop computers and several laptops, all connected to the switch network. We recently purchased a WiFi range extender, the NETGEAR EX3700 AC750.
I plugged in the EX3700 to a convenient wall socket, configured it per the included instructions and was happy to see my new tablet computer connect to the internet all through our house.
Then we discovered that all our switched LAN connections no longer connected to the internet.
The two direct-connected computers still have internet.
I unplugged the EX3700 and reset my COMCAST modem/router and all the switched LAN connections work again now.
This leads me to believe the EX3700 is messing with my COMCAST modem/router DHCP.
The EX 3700 will now remain an expensive paperweight until I determine how to stop whatever it is doing to DHCP on my LAN.
Any suggestions?
I powered down all my PCs, my switches and the range extender.
Then I reset my modem.
When I powered everything back up again, the range extender worked just fine, and so did my wired network.
I'm guessing I forced an IP address change that fixed the problem.

Hello F33b
Did you make sure you have updated the extender to the latest firmware? also you may want to try and reserve the Ip address of the extender in the router.
