EX7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Range Extender 5 ghz connection issues

I'm having issues with my 5 ghz on my new WIFI extender.  My 2.4 ghz extention works most of the time but will occasionally just boot me off.  My 5 ghz, while it flashes green on the LED indicator panel (on the extender), and shows full signal recognition in my network settings (on my Lenovo Yoga) it says "No Internet, Secured" when I try to use that connection.  I have tried resetting and forgetting the network but nothing seems to help.  I also can connect but can't get internet on any of my other devices (iPhone, iPad), which leads me to believe its an extender issue.

    Hello archerx

What is the router that you are using?

      Darren,

I am currently using a Technicolor TC8717T, also since my last post the 2.4 ghz has continued to go out with more noticable frequency.

        Hello ArcherX

You could try a couple things. Make sure your EX7000 is on the latest firmware. You could also try to adjust the wireless channels on your main router maybe some other wifi network or home appliance is causing the drops in the signal. Last thing is you could try to factory reset the extender and set it up again.

Hi Folks - Same problem:  Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Triband R8500 Router.    2.4 GHZ works fine.  5GHz can't support a consistent signal.  Nothing can connect to it.   Upgraded firmware in both router and extender, reset extender 2x, tried the WPS connection a number of times as well as the mywifiext tool.     I can see the 5ghz name broadcasting, and the signal is strong - just no connectivity to any device is possible.
