Extend with Ethernet?
I currently have an R7900 and an EX7000 and the wireless extension is via wireless radio. Does Netgear or any other vendor on the residential side have an extender that can leverage an ethernet connection to pass the extended traffic? I'm working in a home that has wiring in a number of rooms so I can leverage this. I think Linksys used to have "media extenders" that could leverage Ethernet for extended traffic. Do the EX7300s simply amplify the signal of the existing SSID. My example has an R7000 as the base unit.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking for so I'll describe the two ways Ethernet can be used with an extender.

All extenders support this. - Internet====Router====Ethernet====Extender====Wi-Fi====Wireless Device(s)
Only extenders that support Access Point (AP) mode support this.

Oops...missed the important part of that question.
...using SAME SSID. I know enterprise products can do this with a bit more complex set up obviously and many times with a controller device.
In the case of my R7900 and EX7000, the EX7000 has different SSIDs than the base station.
When I tried to tie together two R7000 Nighthawks, it wanted encryption turned off to use both as a base/repeater setup. Who the heck would want an open wireless network?

Hello Technolocloud
What wanted the encryption turned off it should let you password both of them.
