Firmware update, now no connection to existing networke acccessed outside network

Hi, updated firmware (because it kept bugging me) and now the extender will not connect to the existing network.  FW:v1.0.2.66.

Does see router and asks for authentication during setup, but when complete there is no network connection back to router.  Can wirelessly connect to extender, but not extender to router.

Have performed factory reset several times, have left unplugged from power 24 hours and reset again.  Extender is sitting less than 5 feet from router, sees 100% signal during setup but post configuration there is no connection to router.  LED for router connection does not light up, LED for Client Link does light solid green.

Need to resolve as this is the only way to provide internet to 2 computers in another room.

TIA,

LD

    Yes, passwords verified each time.

So I found a solution, but it makes no sense.  The router was originally setup with a two word SSID, "FName SName" with a space in the middle.  This works for every device connecting, including the extender, originally.  Then the FW update and it still sees the router, but will not connect when setup is complete.  After everything else had failed I thought, remove the space and see what happens so the result is "FNameSName" (no space) and success.  Looks like the FW update has a nasty new requirement not previously documented.

For all you smart guys who knew this, or those who want to elucidate the masses, don't.  If I want a two word SSID in my router and everything works, then fine, my choice.  If it works before the update it should work after the update.

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Hi LJDonleson,

Are you sure if you are inputting correct password for exisitng network during setup? If yes, do you have access control enabled on your Router? Try to modify wireless channel on Router and see if that helps.

        Hi LJDonleson,

Good that you resolved it by removing space in SSID. I'll check on this issue since you claim that it worked in previous firmware.
