N300 Wifi extender

Hey guys,

I recently bought the extender and I have some problems with it. I successfully connected in with my router (Not a Netgear router).

So to begin with, I want to ask, does this extender only support Netgear routers?

Therefor, I can't connect to the extender via wifi. I can only use the extra function where I add a cable in the extender and plug in into my PC. Only way It works.

Really thankful for answer. I really want to make it work.

  • Connect your PC to the extender with a cable and visit http://mywifiext.net.  This should bring up the login page for the extender.  The defaults are admin and password.  Once you are logged in, goto to the Wireless Settings and check the password.  If it's different than what you expect, then change it.  Then, try connecting a device to the _EXT network.

  • The extender should work with any router.  There are 2 steps to setting it up:

    1. Connect the extender the router.  You completed this.
    2. Set up the Wi-Fi network for the extender to broadcast.  Once you connect the extender to the router, it will automatically create a Wi-Fi network with _EXT appended to the main router's Wi-Fi network name.  The Wi-Fi password is the same.  You can, later, change both the name and password by logging into the extender.

Thankful for your anwer. I have the EXT as a option in the wifi selection, but even though I write the same password I have on my router. It wont connect. I have tried this with my phone, pc and laptop. Wont work to connect to it at all.
