Why is speed capped at 300mbps on 5ghz band?
does anyone know why wireless speed is capped at 300 mbps on extender when it can range up to 600/1300 on AP side? question is specific to 5ghz band and using fastlane in following config:
FastLane Technology – Offers maximum performance but limits connection to one band (2.4 or 5GHz) .
Device-to-extender in 5GHz only and extender-to-router in 2.4GHz only

- Retired_MemberBecause the link between the extender and router is 300 would be my guess. In AP it uses a wired connection which is a bit faster.

this actually ties into my other post in how there is no way to make the two consistent however..
