WN2500RP Locking Up Multiple Times Daily
I have a WN2500RP (latest firmware) I use to connect to my landlord's wireless router.
(LinkSys WRT54G-TM, TimeWarner Road Runner, no security, latest firmware)
I then have a WNDR3700v2 which I plug into the WN2500RP.
My desktop plugs directly into the WNDR3700v2, and my laptop and phone connect wirelessly to the WNDR3700v2. (So I can have my own secure network with passwords).
Everything has been working perfect for six months, not a single glitch ever.
Then a firmware update came out for the WNDR3700v2 (V1.0.0.36), which notified me when I logged into it to view Attached Devices a month or two ago.
Now, the WN2500RP keeps locking up multiple times a day.
More specifically, I lose the Internet connection, and sometimes access to www.mywifiext.net.
Sometimes, I can log in to www.mywifiext.net, where is says everything is okay.
Other times, I cannot access www.mywifiext.net at all, even though all lights on the WN2500RP are green. When I cannot access www.mywifiext.net, I can log into my WNDR3700v2, and it says the Internet connection is down, with a 0.0.0.0 for the IP address.
The only way to fix this is to reboot (turn off for 30 seconds, then back on) the WN2500RP.
Sometime I can get away with rebooting only the WN2500RP.
Other times I have to do both the WN2500RP and the WNDR3700v2.
The strangest thing is, to test, I connected my laptop to my landlord's WAP, and it stays up all day.
So I used Internet Connectivity Monitor 1.20 to test uptime on the laptop, and it would be perfect all day. (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Network-Tools/Network-Monitoring/Internet-Connectivity-Monitor.shtml). Even when my desktop would lose access, and I had to restart both of my NetGears.
So I am a bit baffled , did upgrading the firmware on my WNDR3700v2 cause this issue?
If so, should I consider going back down to a previous version?
I am not even sure which version I had before, is there a way to check?
If not, did my WN2500RP just decide to start going bad coincidentally around the same time?
Does anyone have any ideas? Or should I just call in to get the WN2500RP replaced as it is under its 1 year warranty?
Thanks,
Chris

- Retired_MemberGo to netgear support for the 3700v2, download FW from there.
Connect to 3700v2 via wired connection reinstall older version of firmware.
As for the other concerns I'll pass. - shuriken101Aspirantsearay,
What can I say, you are the man!
I already knew this before I posted, but I was kinda just hoping the extender was bad, or it was just a setting I was missing. At least having an answer will help anyone else experiencing the same issue, and hopefully get a new firmware in the works for the 3700 that will resolve this (is there any way to submit a known bug?).
Anyway, I went back down to v1.0.0.12 and have been golden. Not a single reboot required since.
Thanks again for pushing me in the right direction!
Chris
