Thanks very much for coming back - using the all importnat bent safety pin have tried that about a dozen times using the 'factory reset' hole. Is there any other way you can think of doing it?

Mystery thickens. The WN3000RP configures itself quite happily in the normal way to a Home Hub 4 at another location (have just tested it). So the villain of the piece is the Home Hub 5. Anyone have any ideas on why this particular router doesn't like the WN3000RP?
