WN3000RP disconnects
Just picked up my wn3000rp and hooked it up to my d-link dir-855 main router.
All my wireless clients can connect to the extended network without any problems but... after 10 minutes the connection is dropped between the router and the wn3000rp.
I have tried to restore it to factory defaults and reconnect it. Same thing happens every time.
MAC filtering is turned off on both ends.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.
Nicklas

- JJS68Tutorbummer, the WN3000RP lost connection to the router again, never reconnected, but that was a lot longer then ever before
- miketyson_NoviceI believe you have also another problem, after the creation of the MAC addresses list my connection is up 24/24 since 3 days. Before that I experienced a disconnection every 15-20 minutes.
- miketyson_NoviceThe typical result of the WPS bug is if you try visit any website through a browser you are redirected to the hijack page. Is that happened with your last disconnect ?

that was what was happening to me before the MAC based security, maybe it was a fluke, well see, hopefully we get a firmware fix to at least try to reconnect when it loses it's connection - goneinsaneAspirantWould any of you that have tried the MAC security solution to the drop out problem be able to describe how this is achieved (or the technically challenged!). Which devices need to be given access to the extender modem/routers, adapters etc? Thanks.
- MiketysonAspirantUnder 'Advanced' in 'Wireless Setting' you can find the 'Setup Access List' button. You should check 'Turn Access Control On' and add the list of all MAC Addresses of the devices allowed to access the WN3000RP (all your devices you want to use with the extender)
This way all the other devices trying to access the extender for a WPS authentication will be refused prior to try the connection.- Shick31Aspirant
I'm still having this problem 6 years later! If by chance you read this help would be appreciated. I'm trying to set up the MAC list mentioned above, and have added my phone and laptop to the list, but as a test have not added my ipad. Have clicked apply, exited from settings, yet can still access internet through Ipad, even though it is not on the approved MAC list?

Hi Shick31,
Which router are you using with the WN3000RP?
- decypher01NoviceI am intrigued about this device  I will just have to wait if it has already a stable firmware i guess.
Its safe to assume that you guys have this problem during fresh installation right? - MiketysonAspirantYes this is a native problem, but it is an issue only if you have WPS devices in your neighbor and it can be solved with the MAC access list. Besides this the device works very well and is very easy to implement.
- decypher01NoviceHow about flashing the firmware? would it work?
- creecoNovicemine doenst even work at all. Never got it to connect to my network.... its funny when every other device in the world can :))) its pretty, but useless ill never buy netgear again in my life
