WNCE2001 browser?

That function would be provided by your blu ray player, not by the WNCE2001. The only thing the WNCE2001 does is connect the wired connection from your blu ray player to your wireless network.

Makes sense...so I've no way of knowing until I actually connect, the player is a few yrs old and I've no manual either :cool:

My question is can you browse the web fully when connected ie through a browser or does it only run apps like netflix etc?

WNCE2001 is an adapter that will allow non wifi devices to connect to wireless with device that only has ethernet ports. Therefore think as wireless adapter , this device is network adapter so so if you want to browse then player, pc with browser built-in will able to surf as long as WNCE2001 is connected to existing wireless network

Yeah stupid of me not to realise this...what I will do is connect my player to my wired connection first and see what it runs

Initially you will also need computer to configure the device before you plug the player

i have this problem also i got the adapter to connect my bdps185 player to the internet for netflix it won't connect. so do i have to first connect the adapter to my computer and do some things then unplug it and connect it to the player?

So which part you did not get it... stated you MUST use pc to configure first.,

Manual states how to install it .

Below what you would expect

Windows 7 Plugs USB power adapter and plug provided ethernet cable to the WNCE2001 Once the Power LED is solid green, unit is "GOOD" Open the browser and should open URL http://www.mywifiext.come/welcome.htm Choose language Hit next and it will go through status bar and look for "available" wireless network with following SSID name Channel Security type Signal Strength It also includes "manually input my wireless SSID" for use who hides broadcasting of SSID Choose your SSID and hit next Provide your pass phrase and hit next It will go through the status bar for connecting to the wireless router. After 1~2min it should come up with "You have successfully connected to wireless SSID NAME " HIt finish. It will also ask you to save to your browser's favorites list. Close the the browser and open browser again If you are using Win 7 it will ask your "network location" you can close or specify the type and save it

so i tried that link and it fails i get problem loading page. any other ideas. i plugged in the adapter to my computer using the usb plug and the Ethernet cable to the modem and i don't get the welcome screen or anything else.

so lets start from the beginning i just got this and plugged it into the player bdp-s185 i configured the player for the internet. but it will not connect.

you said to plug it into the computer and it would conned with a welcome greeting and then let me configure it? nothing happens.

i have a steady power light and the lan light is on and no wifi light when i first plug it in the power is dim then gets bright then the klan lights up and flickers some then goes steady. i can't tell the color.

so where should i see this statements on the computer screen as i don't have it connected yet to a tv for this part. thanks

Of course not - you need to connect the Ethernet and the USB to your computer - the USB is just to provide power, the WNCE2001 can be configured over the Ethernet only. Temporary disable any other wireless connection from your computer to the WLAN.
