can't find 5g on laptop

I can't seem to find the 5G network on my laptop but I can see it on my iPad, I was able to see my extender's 5G network on my laptop before but now I cant find the 5G network for this router. (The model for the router I have right now is the R6400 which is not on the model list.)

    Hi Retired_Member,

    1. Please check on your laptop's user manual or manufacturer to confirm that the laptop supports the 5GHz band. You can indicate the laptop model number in order for us or others to help out in the confirmation.

    2. If the laptop does indeed support the 5GHz band, please make sure that the drivers for the adapter is up to date.

    3. You can also try changing the channel for the 5GHz band.

    Regards,

  • First check that the laptop and confirm that bit can work on 5GHz. That's a newer technology that came after some laptops. Maybe yours can't see 5GHz.
