GS305v3 Ports
I understand that I need to connect the input from my modem/router to one port, and all outputs to other devices to the other ports. Which port (1-5) should I use for the input from my modem/router? Does it matter?

For someone like me, who is ignorant of switches, etc., it would have been nice if the manual (such as it is) actually said that it doesn't matter which ports are connected to what device. Saying nothing is not the same as having nothing to say. Just because you are an IT geek doesn't mean everyone else is.

No. When you read the product documentation for your network switch,
did you find any suggestion that any of its ports behaved differently
from the others?Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get some. Read?I suspected it doesn't matter, but the documentation is very sparse, and doesn't say anything about the ports.

Another possibility would be to run the experiment.
