N600 speed

I am looking to upgrade my cable modem since I was just informed by my isp that I have up to 100mbps incoming data speed.  The tech specs on this model says it handles 600 (300 + 300).  My question: is the isp and modem signal speed the same as the route, i.e., since the router specs indicate it can handle up to 60 mbps, is that the same as the speed I am receiving?  If not, what do I need to get in order to handle the 100 mbps speed?  I hope I wrote this clearly enough.

Thanks,

Colin

  • The max wired speed will be 100mb and the wif speed will around half normally if your planing to go beyond 100mb you need a new router then this will work for a 100mb but at it's limit.

If you want more information about the router try wndr3400v3 not n3400v3 a firmware update may help some

Here is the firmware for wndr3400v3 router link https://www.netgear.com/support/product/WNDR3400v3.aspx#Firmware Version 1.0.1.8

Yes 300mb 2.4 ghz and 300mb 5ghz but will never reach such speeds need the model number of the router to know if you 10/100mb internet and lan ports or 1gb internet and lan ports if what you said is true the modem and router share the same lan port speed your max would be around 100mb on the wired lan ports wifi will be slower.
