Nighthawk R6080 not giving max speed over WiFi
I have a Nighthawk R6080 connected to a Arris surfboard SB6183. My Internet speed is 600 mbps. The speed I get over WiFi and via ethernet(connected to my router) is around 100 mbps. I have connected my laptop directly to the modem and I do get 600 mbps. I do not understand what the issue with the router is.
wcalifas is correct.
that router is only fast ethernet rated. (10/100mpbs).
to get faster speeds you'd need to upgrade to at minimum a gigabit router.
Keep in mind, even if you do upgrade to gigabit, most devices aren't going to hit 600mbps over wireless.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for Smart WiFi Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with General and Smart Wifi (WN and R6000 thru R6400 Series) routers:

I've read the reviews of that complaints concerning that model of router. Just look it up on amazon reviews. They have been complaining that its not a gigabit router, and even the ethernet ports only have the limit of 100 mbps down. You'll probably have to upgrade from that router to get better speeds you desire.

According to Netgear's manual for this device, not always the most reliable source of information, the LAN and WAN support only 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX. That makes it slower than many newer Internet services and most modern network hardware. As you have found that hobbles anyone who signs up for faster than 100 Mbps Internet service. It also slows down whatever is going on in your local network. Newer devices support 1000BASE-TX.
PS Don't waste time visiting another section and duplicating messages just because someone else wants a tidy world. It is easily answered here and has nothing to do with "Nighthawk".

Thank you all for your responses, everything just tells that its false advertisement. So, I got myself a WiFi 6 AX 1800 and the nighthawk app says "router not supported". While netgear literally says use nighthawk app.

It is the WAX204. I ave tried every app netgear has now and everything says router not supported. But the support for netgear says nighthawk should do.
