Nighthawk Router in commercial lobby setting
Hi, we are switching from ATT to Hotwire in a commercial office building lobby setting. The internet is now provided by Hotwire. We have installed the Nighthawk router #AC1200. To install it, we had to download the Nighthawk app on a personal cell phone. Now, every time that personal cell phone leaves the lobby area, the internet disconnects. How can we keep the lobby internet on, without disconnecting?

Not sure what hotwire is.
1.Does it come with a gateway/modem device that you connect the router to?
2. AC1200 is a speed, not a model. What actual router do you have?
3. You can setup the router using the browser and not a personal device. You could simply factory reset it and reinstall using the browser. when it comes to the page that says "netgeaer recommends the app...." at the bottom of the page theres a link you can click on to continue and not use the app/phone.

1) No.
2) The Model is R6120.
3) Does this require keeping a computer in that mechanical room 24-7? Or can I do this using a portable laptop?
- microchip8MasterAny PC will do, just head over to http://192.168.1.1 or http://routerlogin.net. No, you don't have to keep a PC on all the time

OK, thank you. Hotwire is an internet service provider. They never said I needed a modem, only suggested that I purchase this Netgear router. So I need a modem too?

Hotwire might be an ISP but they still have to get it to you somehow. Whether thats using a modem, a gateway, an ONT, or whatever it is, the router is connected to something that is providing it a internet connection
