My IPV4 address starts with 192.168..... and after researching i know that it is a private address from what other forums say but i dont know how to change that in the settings for my specific router

Well, your R6400 is probably connected to a modem. Do you have the model number? That will help us determine if it has a router.

the serial number for the router is 4B35647AA345C And the serial number for the modem it is connected too is 275736835 (it says Cisco on the outside if that helps)

entirely my bad, i wrote the serial number not the model number
the model number for the cisco modem is DPC3216
