Which Netgear router buy?

Hi there, i have virgin media 100mbps contact and hub3 as main router. From that i run cat7 cable to living room downstairs, where is netgear r6220 with tv and home cinema hanged on.

I have another cat7 cable running from hub3 to my office/cave. I m happy with netgear ant nighthawk app, so i would like another netgear router for my office to run 2 gaming computers and printer by wire as well as to spread wifi upstairs.

Here is question coming. Which netgear router new or second hand would be best for my case please? I would like to see wifi6 and tri-band. Terace house from concrete, 10x25m including garden.

Budget is £100-£200 ish.

Thank you.

  • Your budget and your expectations are a little out of line.
If you're wanting triband and wifi 6 for that price, you might need to watch for something like the RBK750 thats refurbished/renewed. That might get you in that window. Your other option is if your using a wired backhaul, a dual band system like the SXK30 would give you the same performance using a wired backhaul

You seem to be inviting problems.

Virgin usually supplies modem/routers. Unless you have put that into modem-only (bridge) mode, piling on a second router can cause problems. Adding a third could be even more interesting.

If you just want better wifi, look into wifi extenders. Fr the TV, you could invetsigate Powerline Ethernet and turn our mains circuit into wired Ethernet.
