WIFI devices see WIFI but do not connect - R6300 -- firmware V1.0.2.78_1.0.58
Hello,
I have loocked up on many treads but could not find a working solution for me.
I have a R6300 v1 with firmware V1.0.2.78_1.0.58 and it was shut off last night by accident. Since then I have lost all WIFI conncetion only:
- ALL wifi Devices see the WIFI connections but can't connect to it. I have an app. called WIFI Analyzer that shows that the router does broadcast the connections.
- Devices conncetions are reccorded (both 2.4 and 5Ghz) on the individual devices but not connceted to the router.
- All WIFI devices (2 Android) do not show in the connceted (attached) list of the router. All wired devises do show IP and MAC adress.
- Internet conncetion is OK.
- Have rebooted, disconnected the router a few times.
- Have changed the names, published and hide the SSID name and changed frequency (auto, 1,2, 3,...) of the 2.4Ghz WIFI conncetion to test.
- Have reset the router to manufacture default using the reset button and re-enter settings with saved settings. Have not tried to reset manually all the settings.
- Disable and re-anable the wireless Router Radio.
- Have ereased and redid the WIFI connection on the individual devices.
The wirelesss settings are:
- SSID's are not presently publised, did not change if I did anyway.
- Wireless radio is on with no particualar settings
- No wireless repeting is set
- Port fowarding is set to default
- No DNS services are activated
- No static routes
- UPnP is on
- IPv6 is disabled
- One is on the 2.4Ghz and the other on the 5Ghz
The WIFI radio is broadcasting but no connections can be made! Could some thing have burned inside?
Hope you can help!
Many thanks!
Thank you very much!
Working now!
Had to do a complete manual reset of the parameters.
I guest some paramters in my saved file was currupted or something.
Problem solved!

Hi @chris20023333,
1. Which light on the device is it?
2. Are all devices affected?
3. Have you tried resetting the device?

Hello Chris,
Don't know what lights you are refering to??
Don't have any on mine except for the connection icons.
Have you tried a reset of your router?
Reset button is behind router at the base. Use a paper clip, press for a few second (I think 5 or 7 sec is good). The user manual give you more precise info on how to....
If you do this, you will need to check the user guide for the default user/password.
If this does not work, try an upgrade of the firmware. You will need access your router via your browser.
Use this address in your browser to connect to your router - 192.168.1.1. You will be promted for your user and password. Should you not know/remember it, try the defaults from the user guide. If still can't access you will need to reset the router anyway.
Ones in; go to ->Advanced TAB-> Administration ->"Update router" or something similar. You will be able upload the new firmware file from your computer.
This solution worked fine for me with an upgrade. But I tried to upgrade before reset and it did not work.
Had to reset and then upgrade. If something is corrupted in the routers data, it will upgrade with it.
MInd you, I did not check if the router was working right after reset without the upgrade.
Good luck!
