Wired connection not an option for firmware fix
"WNR2000v5 Firmware Version 1.0.0.42" suggests a wired connection be used for firmware upgrade. I live where wireless is my only option. Shall I go ahead anyway?

Thank you. Yes, I do have an Ethernet cable connecting my desktop computer to the router. I did not know that this was considered a "wired connection".
Thanks for educating me!

A wired connection really is the best idea, but a lot of people have successfully flashed over wifi.
Too help you to reach a decision, check what the release notes say about the new firmware. Some updates are there to fix security issues. Some people think it essential to fix even the most theoretical security holes.

Are you saying that you do not have any computer with an Ethernet
port which you can connect to the router?
You don't need a wired connection to the Internet. The firmware
upload may be more reliable if there's a wired connection between the
computer with the Web browser (and the firmware kit file) and the
router.- gailouiseAspirant
